Man Who Came For Deliverance At A Popular Church Hangs Self In Ondo

A man alleged to have come for deliverance at a popular prayer center all the way from Abuja to Akure has tragically lost his life.

A 42-year-old man, Ayo Boye, who came for a deliverance and church service sadly hanged himself on a tree behind a block firm in the Adofure area of Akure, Ondo State. on Wednesday.

The sad incident took place on Wednesday. It was gathered that the deceased came all the way from Abuja to Akure to attend the deliverance service in a popular prayer center before the incident happened.

The owner of the block firm where the man committed suicide, who identified himself simply as Olanrewaju, said that he got knowledge of the infomation on phone after his workers called to inform him on Wednesday .

Olanrewaju said, “We immediately reported the incident at a police station”

It was gathered that the deceased came from Abuja to Akure to attend a church service at a popular prayer center in the area where he took his life and get deliverance.

The founder of the prayer centre, Pastor Samson Oluwamodede, claimed ignorant of the incident.

He said, “There are many people that worship in my church; there is no way I can recognise everybody.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said the wife and relatives of the deceased had been contacted.

“We found a Nokia handset and a sum of N2,500 on him, we found the Bible on him, but we are not certain that he came to worship at the prayer center,” Joseph added.
