Pastor Kevin Matthews says he is experiencing emotional and mental distress due to her backing down from a verbal contract they had regarding $1.5 million to purchase land to build a retreat facility.
“I had to start taking more medicine for anxiety and depression due to this situation,” says Pastor Kevin Matthews.
According to Matthews, he provided prayer to Holmes and several others at her house and he casually mentioned that he has been praying for land to build a retreat center and he asked the young mother if she would consider helping out. Supposedly they both agreed to the $1.5 million although there was no paperwork or written agreement regarding their conversation.
Holmes’ attorney, Ruth Sheehan has since denied Matthews’ claims.

The GSM companies are making money selling Valentine messages. And that is the point: the frenzy over Valentine’s Day is commercial, capitalistic, and it is of course, global. In the United States, even the White House is not left out, with the First Lady composing a poem for President Barack Obama on this special occasion. It is all mushy, lovey-dovey stuff. The eventual beneficiaries are the business outfits that produce printing cards, shirts, chocolates, cakes, the restaurants that will probably remain open till Feb. 15, not to talk of the companies that will benefit from the many phone calls, e-mails and text messages.
Sometimes, I find Valentine’s Day a bit suffocating, feminist, and discriminatory. This year’s celebration falls on a Sunday, otherwise it would also have been observed in schools including nursery and kindergarten schools. On a school day, all the pupils would have been instructed to dress up in red colour and to bring gifts for their friends. The children are innocent but their teachers, especially in the private schools, initiate them into this annual ritual. Last year, there was so much red colour blinding the eyes on the streets. I also saw old men and women, even widows, joining the celebration, refusing to be left out of their share of the love in the air. And later in the day of course, the restaurants usually take over and the ultimate show of chivalry is for a man to be seen taking his Valentine for candle-lit dinner, or to go on his knees and pop the question, or to exchange wedding vows on this special day.
It is as if this is the only day meant for love, and the flow of affection is generally understood around here to be from man to woman. The emphasis is not even on pure, unadulterated love; but physical romance. In everything there is a suggestion among the younger generation that a Valentine’s Day expression of love is the truest form of affection, which it is not. The overwhelming focus on purchasing power as a measure of love and affection makes it worse. This has resulted in some commentators lamenting that given the economic austerity in the land, Valentine’s Day this year may not be as exciting, because as the common saying goes, “there can be no romance without finance!”. In the past, a poem or a letter or a bouquet of flowers would do, but I hear, not anymore. Our new age Nigerian ladies no longer read love letters, nor are they interested in poetry- those forced rhymes and sweet nothings meant to make the heart flutter don’t seem to work anymore.
These days, I have heard such comments as: “we have not received salary, how man go take do Valentine?” and I have seen a cartoon in which a husband tells his wife that they will be better off spending the whole day in church! It is perhaps more advisable to celebrate Agape, church love than to dig a hole in the pocket and tell stories that touch the heart later.
I am not against anyone celebrating love, but the desperation, the heartache and the sheer anxiety that now attends Valentine’s Day is a bit over the top. People should not have to borrow or rob a bank to prove that they love a woman. And this whole thing about romantic love is curious. In any relationship at all, physical love is not enough. It takes a lot more to build relationships.

3. Lose the salt. Sodium contributes to water retention, making you look and feel bloated. Do you eat too much salt? Probably — the daily value suggests no more than 2,400 milligrams of sodium each day (or about one teaspoon), but most of us are getting more than twice that amount. So keep an eye on your sodium intake, and that doesn't just mean ditching the saltshaker. Hidden sources include soups, canned foods and drinks (did you know a serving of regular V8 juice has 800 mg of sodium?), salty snacks such as chips and pretzels and many prepackaged foods.

4. Spice it up. Angelo Tremblay, Ph.D., director of the division of kinesiology at Laval University, in Canada, found that eating hot peppers can boost a person's basal metabolism (the total calories the body burns at rest). The reason? Capsaicin, a compound found in jalapeno and cayenne peppers, may increase your body's release of stress hormones such as adrenaline, which can speed up your metabolism and your ability to burn calories. What's more, eating hot peppers may reduce your appetite, Tremblay says, helping to curb your cravings. So spice up your stir-fried veggies, eat low-calorie chili or salsa (try them on salads and baked potatoes), and watch the pounds come off faster.
5. Get some sleep. As funny as it sounds, sleep deprivation may make you fat — and not just because you're susceptible to cases of the late-night munchies (although there's that too). Women who get less than four hours of sleep per night have a slower metabolism than those who snooze for a full eight hours, according to researchers at the University of Chicago. So don't skimp on your zzz's, and you'll be rewarded with an extra edge when it comes to shedding pounds quickly.
Move Around
6. Go for an evening walk. Don't get me wrong — exercising at any time is good for you. But evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips.
7. Eat every meal. Listen up: Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel.

Onyeani, Chief Executive of Imagine Roco Limited, sometime in November, 2013, allegedly presented himself to the complainant as a member of a seven-man Presidential Committee on Import Duties Concession and Waiver of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and investment, Abuja.
The 53-year-old accused person also allegedly demanded the sum of N178, 000,000 (one hundred and seventy-eight million naira) from the complainant, promising that he could procure import duties waiver/concession certificate for importation of stock fish.
However, the accused person, after collecting the sum of N57,704,000.000 (fifty-seven million, seven hundred and four thousand naira) from the complainant, became elusive.
When the petitioner requested for refund, the accused person was said to have issued some cheques, which were not honoured due to insufficient fund in his account.
One of the counts reads:
‘‘That you, Robert Daniel Onyeani, CEO of Imagine Roco Ltd, on or about the 26th day of November, 2013 at Aba within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria obtained the sum of N20,000,000.00 (twenty million naira) from one Chinemeya Iheaku of G.N. Iheaku & Co. Ltd under the false pretence that you can procure a certificate of concession/waiver on the importation of stockfish/fish head, a representation you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(1) of Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.’’
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges when they were read to him. In view of his plea, the prosecuting counsel, Joshua Saidu, asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the accused person in prison custody. The defence counsel, O. Emole, however, moved an application for bail on behalf of his client.
Consequently, Justice Anyadike adjourned the matter to February 16 for hearing on the bail application and ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody.

Footballer Adam Johnson sacked by his club after admitting to child sex charges, Adidas withdraws sponsorship
Yesterday Thursday February 11th, Adidas also terminated the contract they had with the English footballer. With his trial set to continue today, Sunderland have confirmed their decision to terminate his contract having now had time to process his guilty plea.
Last night,the club posted an official statement to that effect on their website.
''In light of Adam Johnson's guilty pleas, the club has today terminated his contract with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment.''
The player who had a £50,000 per week contract with the club was last year arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15 year old girl and child grooming her. He had been playing for Sunderland while the case was in court.
Ever since he had pleaded not guilty to all four charges leveled against him, but while in court on Wednesday accepted two charges; one on child grooming and the other on sex with a minor.

The idea of social interaction is cemented on your relationship with others and how well you can tailor and adapt yourself to the current trend and opinions of others.
It is ideal to be worried and concerned about how people see you and regard, it is even more great to know there opinion of you, but this can also be your greatest undoing.
People will always talk and not everyone will like you, but the moment you realize it is your life you are living and not theirs, then it is imperative to know that they are not really supposed to tell you how to live your life.
Constantly seeking validation and approval from others by trying to act to their requirements and request will do you a greater harm in your quest for success.
I will advise that you listen more but act your best without trying to please everyone, otherwise, you will just be the next in number amongst the most underachieved and unsuccessful people on earth!

Student Miranda Forsyth swapped her car for boobs by selling her Fiat to pay for a boob job.
The 22 year old business student of Kingston University , Surrey, booked the £4,500 operation to increase her boobs from an A cup to double Ds a week after trading in her £12,000 car.
But busty Miranda doesn't regret a thing as snaps of her new assets have not only reeled in 8,000 followers on Instagram, but also landed her a part time job as a model.
She said:
"If I set my mind on something I just do it. "I really had nothing there before so I just decided to do it.
"I haven't told my mum yet because I don't think she would like it too much when I told her I was thinking about it she was fine at first but then she just kept saying I didn't need it and I was perfect the way I was."
But Miranda's breast implants almost never happened after doctors found a cyst on her ovary had exploded the day before she went under the knife.
She said:
"I just couldn't get up and was in loads of pain. "I was rushed to hospital and doctors said it was quite common for women to have cysts, mine must've been in a painful place".
The downside to Miranda's boob job is that she's had to fork out a whopping -£2,000 on clothes to fit her new bigger chest.
